PennDel's Installation

Installation

The PennDel Chapter

By M.Daniel Nelson, Jr.

President, PennDel Chapter

The Delaware-Pennsylvania, PennDel, is pleased to announce the installation of its newest round of officers.

After been elected on November 15, 2014 the chapter worked to find a hall to host the event and an installing official, and it was finally able to complete the formal installation of leaders. Dr. Christopher A. Bullock, president of New Castle County Council and Pastor of the Canaan Baptist Church, was the installing official

The new officers are: yours truly, M.Daniel Nelson, Jr., President, Oretha McClain-1st Vice President, Berma Findley-2nd Vice President, Lofa Cooper-Secretary, Meyartha Coleman-Perry-Treasurer/Treasury Secretary, Jacqueline Marshall-1st Board Member, and Rev.H.Lafayette Willis-2nd Board Member. With this new group of leaders, we are poised to make a positive impact on the national organization and go the extra mile.

PennDel is situated between two of the largest chapters in the organization, Metro of Maryland/DC and Tri State, New York, Northern New Jersey and Connecticut. This geographical location puts the chapter in the lime light and presents the challenge of meeting a very high standard. And this is a challenge that the chapter is prepared to meet and even surpass.

PennDel’s goal is to contribute to the efforts of the National Organization and supporting chapters from around the country in pursuit of the highest level of education for the students of B.W.Harris Episcopal School. The members of the chapter know that it is all about the betterment of the children and this is their focus. It is never about us, but rather, the children.

There is a quote in a famous building in Washington D.C. that reads: “What we do for ourselves dies with us. What we do for others and the world remains and is immortal”. Let’s leave then with the words of Dr.Martin Luther King, Jr., Life's most persistent and urgent question is, 'what are you doing for others?’”
